West Kelowna Private Shop
Home Shops
Rebuilt after the West Kelowna wildfires, this turn-key steel shop was conceived for the wildland–urban interface: smarter, stronger, and low-maintenance. MSC handled the full delivery—engineering, permits, concrete, site prep, and installation—while the pre-engineered steel building was supplied by CMB Canadian Metal Buildings. Project Highlights A 24-gauge standing-seam roof with an R-50 energy saver insulation system anchors the envelope, paired with 2-ft overhangs and custom soffits for weather protection and crisp lines. Inside, custom internal steel supports a second-floor mezzanine to keep the layout flexible. Multiple view windows frame the Okanagan vistas, and a wall-sheeting accent band adds visual depth. Built for fire resilience, the non-combustible steel structure and high-performance assemblies reduce fuel load, improve durability, and simplify cleanup—exceeding the needs of a fire-interface site. With MSC coordinating owners, engineers, authorities, and the supplier through a single point of accountability, decisions were faster, details stayed consistent, and the schedule held steady.
