Peter Stalenhoef Private Shop

Our crews were able to stay close to home for this private shop; built along the cliffs of Lakeshore in Kelowna, BC. Overlooking the lake, we were able to erect this 2,400 sq. ft. pre-engineered steel building along the cliffs of Lakeshore for our client to store recreational toys, equipment and act as a shop space — to do it all!

It is no surprise that private shops are increasing in popularity. The need for personal and professional storage is growing, and the storage industry can not keep up with the current demand. The Okanagan is a part of British Columbia's Interior Plateau region characterized by the string of lakes across the valley. Which, in turn, brings avid outdoor enthusiasts to live in the region. With outstanding temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius in the summer, we were happy to provide a safe space to store Peter's equipment away from the elements. This project took a month to complete; our crews had to battle through the cold snap that blew through the Okanagan during December. Despite the snow, ice, and cold weather conditions, our team was on time and budget.

This custom steel build was a standard and simple design, a standing seam roof, and installing four windows for daylighting in the shop. We recommend designing daylighting into your next pre-fabricated steel building because this technique provides energy savings, temperature regulation, and more natural lighting to work inside.
