MSC completed the design, supply, and installation of this 2,800 sq. ft. washpad building for GCT Global Container Terminals at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority in Delta, BC. Located at the port, the building was designed for a demanding coastal environment where salt air, salt water, and constant moisture can accelerate corrosion.

The key feature on this project is the fully galvanized steel package. In a setting like Delta, that added protection helps guard against corrosion from salt air and supports longer-term durability with lower maintenance over time. It is a practical choice for a washpad building that needs to keep performing in tough coastal conditions.

The building also includes custom metal sheeting on the roof and walls, plus a low-side overhang to provide added coverage for equipment. Together, those features give the client a durable, functional building package suited to daily use in a high-exposure location.

MSC works with clients across Western Canada to deliver steel buildings that match the job, the site, and the climate. This project is a strong example of how the right materials and design choices can make a building better suited to its environment.
