Our Story
Metal Structure Concepts (MSC) is owned by third-generation steel builders Steve Ivanitz and Corey Ivanitz. On the one hand, MSC builds on years of experience and knowledge, as both owners have a rich legacy and individually acquired over 20 years of experience within the steel building sector. On the other hand, MSC looks to the future, enriching its strong roots through borderless creativity—operating, innovating, and creating.
1960
The Journey
The Ivanitz steel building legacy begins in Saskatchewan in the 1960s with grandfather Sam Ivantiz and Jim Ivanitz, Steve's* father, and Sam Ivanitz, Corey's* father.
*Steve and Corey Ivanitz are the current owners of Metal Structure Concepts.
2002
Breaking Ground
MSC was founded by Steve Ivanitz in Kelowna, BC, in 2002, and they hit the ground running with a 100,000 sq. ft. project for MAAX Bath Inc. in Armstrong, BC. Steve's father, Jim, helped land the project, which catapulted MSC forward and awarded them a household name in the steel building industry.
2008
The Financial Storm
The financial crisis took the world by storm, but MSC weathered that storm successfully, landing safely ashore with a major project for Kicking Horse Coffee in Invermere, BC.
2014
Pivotal Growth
Steve, owner of MSC, partners with cousin Corey Ivanitz to manage field crews. The two fluidly work together, along with their expert team, to guarantee all buildings look, perform, and last exactly as intended. This also allows Steve to focus on business development, sales, and marketing.
2020
Logistical Challenges
Despite the logistical challenges that COVID caused, MSC successfully completed a key mining project for Victoria Gold Corp. in the Yukon.
2022
20th Anniversary
To celebrate MSC’s 20th Anniversary, the company paid for a team trip—including their families—to Mexico.
2023
New Beginnings
MSC welcomes Corey Ivanitz as Owner & Project Development to spearhead the new Alberta and Saskatchewan division. Meanwhile, back in British Columbia, Steve lands a 90,000 sq. ft. project for Karma Farming in Kelowna, BC.
