A third-generation steel building expert with over 20 years of experience, Steve has a proven track record of completing hundreds of metal buildings across Western Canada with the help of his loyal, experienced team. Steve’s experience is matched by his passion for helping business owners achieve their dreams—the result is custom steel buildings that last, perform exactly as intended, and make his clients' lives easier.
Brian Keyser
SR. Estimator & Project Manager
Nothing gets past Brian. Our project manager and estimator is passionate about meticulously analyzing every detail of a project to ensure its success. He’s our expert problem-solver which allows him to identify and resolve potential issues before they ever arise, skills he has developed over 12 years working in pre-engineered metal buildings and countless complex projects. Brian first learned the technical expertise and effective communication skills he brings to his role while earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. MSC relies on Brian’s creative, problem-solving mind to find innovative solutions to any challenge.
Chelsea Purssey
Accounting Clerk
Chelsea brings close to a decade of valuable experience in administrative and accounting roles to the MSC team and is excited to be using her skills in the steel building industry. Skilled in managing calendars, event coordination, bookkeeping, invoice processing, financial statement preparation, and budgeting expertise, Chelsea knows how to keep a business running. A technology and data analysis enthusiast, Chelsea gets a kick out of creating and managing spreadsheets to facilitate accurate and timely data analysis, reporting, and decision-making. When she’s not keeping things organized behind the scenes, you can find Chelsea playing with her cats and enjoying a good book.

A seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in operations and construction management, Carolyn is skilled at implementing process improvement initiatives and monitoring performance metrics. Whether it’s in contract review, logistics tracking, or payroll management—Carolyn makes sure a project is executed smoothly. Her leadership skills and resourcefulness stem from diverse industry experience starting with a Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management from BCIT and including insights into digital marketing and the world of social media. Eager to explore project management and estimating, she brings tact and diplomacy honed by experience navigating complex situations to the world of metal buildings. When she’s not ticking all of the boxes behind the scenes at MSC, Carolyn enjoys camping, concerts, and renovating—her version of “extreme nesting”!

Frequently Asked Questions
Structural steel buildings, also known as conventional steel, are constructed onsite using a blend of materials (steel, wood, masonry etc). They provide more flexibility in build for complex designs.
Pre-engineered steel buildings are fabricated as a kit off-site and then erected on site. They are more cost-effective, easy to maintain and simpler to build.
A typical building comes with 9-inch insulation in the roof (R30 value) and 6 inches in walls (R20), however, we can customize a design to suit your specific needs. We also specialize in insulated metal panels (aka sandwich panels) to meet today’s stringent energy codes.
Yes, a pre-engineered steel building is the most cost-effective building type to support the weight of a crane indoors. In more complex builds, structural steel may be the better option. The third option is a precast building. The likes of wood and block buildings are expensive in design for the support needed.
