MSC’s British Columbia Division is headed by co-owner and founder Steve Ivanitz. Backed by a devoted office staff, Steve oversees MSC’s projects to ensure there is constant collaboration between designers, managers, preferred work crews, and you. It’s also why we are part of the Metal Alberta Building Association and obtained our Dynamic Seal from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in 2018 (currently ranking A+).

Steve is a third generation steel building expert who brings over 22 years experience to the job. With a proven track record of hundreds of buildings across Western Canada and a loyal experienced staff, Steve has the experience and the resources to guarantee a finished product that looks, performs and lasts exactly as intended.

Sr. Estimator / Project Manager
Tyler’s outstanding customer service skills, positive attitude, and experience in construction makes him a valuable asset to the MSC team. He is a graduate of the Okanagan College Civil Engineering Technology Program.
Brian Keyser

Brian has more than 12 years of experience in pre-engineered metal buildings, during which he has developed a passion for meticulously analyzing every detail of a project to ensure its success. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, which has equipped him with technical expertise to communicate effectively with other team members and clients. Brian has a proven track record of identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle, and he has honed his problem-solving skills through numerous complex projects. He is confident in his ability to provide innovative solutions to any challenges that may arise.
Chelsea Purssey
Accounting Clerk
Chelsea has accumulated eight years of valuable experience in administrative and accounting roles, working across various industries such as hospitality, transportation, construction, retail, and services sectors. She is skilled in managing calendars, scheduling appointments, coordinating events, and handling correspondence as an administrative professional. Moreover, Chelsea has extensive expertise in bookkeeping, invoice processing, financial statement preparation, and budgeting. As a technology and data analysis enthusiast, Chelsea derives immense pleasure in creating and managing spreadsheets that facilitate accurate and timely data analysis, reporting, and decision-making. Apart from work, Chelsea enjoys spending her free time with her cats and reading books.

Project Management/Operations
Carolyn, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in Operations and Construction Management, holds a Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management from BCIT, which she leverages to implement process improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics. Proficient in contract review, logistics tracking, and payroll management, she ensures smooth project execution. Her leadership skills and resourcefulness stem from diverse industry experience, including insights into digital marketing and the world of social media. Eager to explore Project Management and Estimating, she brings tact and diplomacy, honed through navigating complex situations. Beyond work, Carolyn enjoys camping, concerts, and renovating—her version of 'extreme nesting’!

The project ran smoothly from start to finish and MSC was knowledgeable, professional and understood our needs for a tight budget. We hired MSC for the new warehouse on our Shuttleworth Creek Vineyard property. We chose MSC as they had built our production facility at our home vineyard about 15 years ago and had had a good experience then. Steve and his team at MSC have all been great to deal with throughout the process, even when we faced major delays (from outside factors unrelated to MSC). Once construction was able to finally go ahead, the team got the building up in what seemed like record time, despite un-seasonally cold weather. Everything was handled very professionally, and we loved getting the photo updates from Marty with drone footage giving the bird's-eye view of the project. MSC certainly met all of our expectations and I would recommend them to anybody needing steel construction for their project.

Country RV contracted MSC to design, supply and erect our flagship building back in 2008. The custom design included a showroom, parts department, mezzanine, offices and six service bays and was especially challenging as it involved a six acre site consisting of riparian work along a fish stream, a deceleration lane and a turn lane off Hwy 97. MSC did a fantastic job and no one would ever guess this is a pre-engineered steel building. If we ever expand, MSC will be the first call I make.

I’ve been asked to describe my experience with Metal Structure Concepts on my recent shop build. It’s certainly had its ups and downs. More than anything it’s been an education in the 2018 BC building code. I highly recommend taking their advice and hiring a consultant for code review ahead of time. I personally had no idea what I didn’t know. With the scale of my new shop, going from 3 service bays to 6 and the large span required we opted for a metal building this time. The building itself went up quite quickly once permits were in hand and the quality is good. Only minor adjustments required here and there with braces and fitting door openings. I am very impressed with the overall look and structure. The erector crews were good guys and we enjoyed their company, as we did with the planning and management at MSC. I’m very happy to see this shop finally coming together and look forward to putting it to work in coming months.
